10:15 – 11:15 am for ages three to adult
The Vacation Bible School has plans for 4 youth events for the Summer.
The Vacation Bible School Committee met and came up with plans for 4 youth events for the Summer. All the events will be held on a Sunday after the 9:30 church service. We are offering these events as an alternative to a traditional VBS to keep our youth of all ages and their families engaged and involved in church throughout the summer. Please let me know if you have any questions, suggestions or if you would be able to help with any of these events.
1) July 10th: Nerf-a-palooza:
This event is designed for the elementary and older youth. Janeen held one in the Fall and it was well attended. We would like to have a hot dog lunch following the service on Sunday. Then, the youth will take part in various activities, including a devotional, target practice, obstacle course, and water fight.
*Bring: nerf guns (non-disc), protective eyewear, extra bullets, and water guns.
2) July 17th: VBS and Movie Making Sunday: (cancelled)
The VBS Movie Making has been cancelled, We are hoping to do the movie on Rally Sunday in the Fall.
3) August 14th: Day at Seabreeze
Following the service at church, families will go to Seabreeze and then enjoy being together at the park the rest of the day. A picnic grove has been reserved for our group. Please sign-up as soon as possible so we can purchase the tickets at a discounted rate by August 1st.. All children who are members of the church & VBS chaperones tickets will be paid for by the church. Friends and family members are welcome, but they have to pay for their own tickets. Additional tickets will be $22.75 a ticket or $13 for people who just want to be in the park & don’t want to go on any rides. We plan meet at the church at 10:45. The tickets will be handed out at that time. We will leave for the park at 11:00am. The pavilion would be our “in the park” meeting spot. We are hoping to provide charcoal if families are interested in bringing food to grill, and hope to have two drink coolers, one with water and one with lemonade. All food is up to the families. Seabreeze allows people to bring in coolers.
4) August 28th: Picnic and Prayer Labyrinth at Tinker Park
Following the service at church, This will be a family event held at Tinker Park, Henrietta. We have rented a pavilion and would like families to bring their lunch. Then, we will use the park (they have a maze and some walking trails) to create a prayer journey. The committee also thought it would be a good idea to combine the idea of prayer and mission. We would like to help clean up the park at the end of the event.
Sign-up sheets will be on the Narthex table. Please sign up if you are interested, so we know how many people to plan for. Let me know if you have any questions, suggestions or if you would be able to help with any of these events.
