LYO SOUPER BOWL —Thank you to all who contributed to the Souper Bowl. $242.00 was collected and many cans of soup. Although the “neutral” group had the largest donation, of the two teams, we picked the winner this year.
ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE OF HOLY COMMUNION is Wednesday, February 14 at 7:00 PM. You are invited to this special service. Plan to attend the Mid-Week Lenten Services on Wednesdays, beginning Feb 21 at 7:15 PM during Lent
A SERVICE OF THANKSGIVING for relationships— In keeping with St. Valentine’s Day, we are celebrating relationships during our worship services this morning. We give thanks for marriages, parental, sibling or any relationship you may wish to celebrate. Join us for a coffee hour following each service. There will also be opportunity for members who wish to renew their wedding vows to do so during the Prayers of the Church.
Why do we bury the alleluia? —Alleluia is appropriately bid farewell on the Sunday preceding Ash Wednesday (the Transfiguration of Our Lord, also called the last Sunday after the Epiphany). This is the last Sunday when alleluia will be used until Easter Sunday. The youth group will be burying the alleluia today.
FAT TUESDAY PANCAKE SUPPER—February 13, 6:00 PM . As we get ready for Lent we are called to take the fat our of our homes for 40 days. The Evangelism Committee and LYO will joint sponsor a pancake and sausage supper at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, February 13. This is a time to “martigra” so we hope to have lively entertainment. A free will offering will be taken. Please sign up on the tan response sheet or the sign up sheet in the narthex.
MID-WEEK LENTEN SOUP AND SANDWICH MEALS— Begin Wednesday, February 21 at 6:30 PM. Come and enjoy a light dinner before the Mid-week Lenten Services which start at 7:15 PM.
BETTIE CURRY– our friend Bettie was called to her heavenly home on January 30th. Her Memorial Service will be at our church on March 10th.

The 30 Hour Famine begins February 23. Youth of our congregation will participate in World Visions 30 hour famine on February 23-24. We are asking you to sponsor youth for the famine i.e 10 cents or more per hour. The major point of the famine is to introduce our young people to the experiences of hunger shared by many children throughout the world. Planned activities highlight these experiences. You are also invited to participate in a PRAYER VIGIL during the time of the famine. We are asking you to pray for our youth and the worlds hungry during the vigil. You may sign up for a half hour time slot to pray. A signup sheet is in the narthex. Thank you for sharing in this event and seeking to help the hungry.

JUBLIEE’S VALENTINE’S DAY LUNCHEON- Join us at noon on February 14thYanni’s Restaurant located at 120 Pixley Rd to celebrate Valentine’s Day. The sign up sheet is on the Narthex Table will be ordering from their menu and will be provided separate checks sign up by today, February 11th, so that we can let the restaurant know how many people will be attending.
